WHAT: Media conference call on the release of report titled “Monsanto vs. U.S. Farmers.”

WHO: Center for Food Safety executive director, Andrew Kimbrell, and legal director, Joseph Mendelson; Percy Schmeiser, Canadian farmer sued by Monsanto; and U.S. farmers to be announced.
WHY: In May 2003, the Center for Food Safety embarked on a project to determine the extent to which American farmers have been impacted by litigation arising from the use of patented genetically engineered crops. On Thursday, January 13, CFS will reveal the results of this research, discuss the ramifications for the future of farming in the U.S. and outline policy options for ending the persecution of America’s farmers.
